"Devy is a star, a genius, and a human dynamo. When problems arise, he finds a solution. When a group member has an individual need or request, he goes out of his way to help. It's always done with a smile, and he gives people the confidence to meet challenges, because he believes in them. Most inspiring holiday I've ever had."
"I've toured with a number of groups
around the world and ran many marathons, but being
with Andes Adventures and running the Inca Trail
is at the very top of my list. The location needs
no introduction, it is simply spectacular, and
Devy and his crew at Andes Adventures are the best.
They provided the experience of a lifetime that was challenging as well
as educational. They not only showed us the way they but also participated
in the adventure. And even though they have done this many times over
the years they brought a level of excitement and enthusiasm as if it
were their first. Devy and Andes Adventures is South America in my book
and to go with anyone else would be a mistake. Thank you Devy."
"This experience defies words. How
can “exceptional beauty”, “tremendous physical challenge”, “exceptional
fellow athletes and camaraderie among them”, “meticulously
well-organized and caring”, and “superbly guided and orchestrated
from start to finish” all be gross understatements, not just for
the marathon but for the entire excursion! Yet,
they are understatements. This was the trip of a lifetime – something
for me to retrieve from memory and savor for the rest of my years, because
I cannot fathom something more fulfilling. This was a dream come true.
Thank you; Devy and to all of your exceptional staff.
"Our trip to the Inca Trail was
simply remarkable. Devy and his staff from Andes
Adventures provided us with a first class experience.
They gave us great insight into the Inca and Peruvian cultures while
accommodating us every step of the way. The hotels, transportation and
restaurants were second to none. The acclimatization runs were a perfect
balance of fun, picturesque and rugged. The camaraderie of the tour
participants and staff were phenomenal. I feel as though I have made
great friends and have already visited some since our trip. The marathon
was an amazing challenge with breathtaking beauty. Combined with the
knowledge gained from tours I actually imagined myself as an Inca Chasqui
runner racing to Machu Picchu. Finishing this event gave me a profound
feeling of accomplishment which I have been searching for. I will look
forward to scheduling another adventure with Devy in the near future."
trip has been an amazing adventure Devy. Your tireless attention
to every detail never ceases to amaze and its part of what made
the trip so special. Everyone of every ability is catered for.
The guides were all extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about
'their' country. Through the Andean Triangle, you enabled us to
run through and experience some of the most beautiful area's that
Argentina, Chile, Bolivia and Peru can offer and we will treasure
our '1st Princess Juanita of Ampato marathon' running vests for
back over the last week I would have to say that it was one
of the most memorable and enjoyable few days I've ever had.
As with all events it had it's ups & downs but with this
event the only downs were the steep descents! I have to compliment
Devy on a great overall package and in hindsight it was probably
too well organised because now we'll expect more from future
events. Abelardo was an excellent guide, good company and
was always able to answer our questions. A big thanks to all
my new friends, it was great getting to know you all so thanks
for the memory. "
still trying to recover from all the fun I had on the Andean
Triangle. That was my fourth trip with Andes Adventures and
by far the BEST!!!!! You just keep getting better with providing
amazing adventures. By now I guess you figured out that you
really did give your company a name that truly describes what
your trips are about--ADVENTURE!!!! It always is a real adventure
with you. That is why I keep returning. You and your amazing
adventures in South America have truly enriched my life and
provided me with a treasure chest of memories. Thank you!!!!! "
and I just want you to know that we had a blast, it was exciting,
adventurous, stress free, beautiful, awesome, etc. We are
already looking at Peru 2010. It was our first organized group
trip and we had our doubts going into it but now we are sold.
Thanks for taking care of us and dealing with all the unknowns
that came up. The lasting impression we have is that it was
a wonderful memorable trip and you were the main contributing
factor because you organized it and took care us and our needs.
Good job, great work, and like I say, we will be back!"
was one heck of a trip. Just a perfect combination:
beautiful scenery, historic territory, fascinating
culture, physical challenge, good companionship,
great running buddies, good food, perfect organization,
two fearless leaders – and lots of Pisco
Sours and Mate de Coca to keep everybody happy.
This will be hard to repeat. A treasure to
"At the end of the day, the trip was so sensational, it was hard to find any more 'plus points' - so what about a criticism? The trouble with the Chasqui Challenge and Andes Adventures is that it is so brilliant, you will be spoilt for traveling with anyone else!"
"One of life's rarest opportunities is to experience and successfully complete a unique adventure. The Machu Picchu Marathon and The Chasqui Challenge lead by Devy Reinstein together posed just such an adventure. In retrospect, when one reflects on a unique yet challenging event, the only thing truly remembered is how great it was - thanks Devy"
"Just wanted to write and thank you for putting on the most amazing trip to Peru. Your anticipation of everyone's needs, your attention to every detail, your contagious enthusiasm for everything made for a truly wonderful experience. The side trips and mini excursions were adventures in themselves and the knowledge and expertise of your guides Freddy and Abelardo were a priceless addition to the trip.
Once again please accept my sincere thanks. You are a star!"
"Well done on organizing such a fantastic
event. Really enjoyed the run and of course
the rest of the trip made so much more enjoyable and interesting
with the professional guides, who added so much value with the
history of the areas we traveled through."
"I've run the volcanoes
of Hawaii, the Great Wall of China, and the mountains of Colorado,
but none of them compared to the challenge, and satisfaction, of
completing the Inca trail marathon. Not even 422 laps around a Russian
trawler off the coast of Antarctica could compare to the majesty
of your adventure runs in the Andes mountains"
"Thank you so much for the epic adventure. I can’t possibly articulate how wonderful the trip was, nor are there words for how brilliant and skillful you are. I have no idea how you got us through airports and borders and buses and hotels so quickly and easilyor at least it seemed easy! Many, many thanks, I can’t wait to do another trip with you."
and I made it back to the U.S. after our extension to the Amazon.
What an amazing trip. The only part I wish could have been different
was to share it with you all. Hiking, canoeing, fishing, relaxing
in a hammock with a good book. We saw a shaman cleansing ceremony,
which was supposed to clean the soul from worries and troubles.
After such a great vacation, I certainly had no worries or troubles
left to cleanse. I believe they got lost somewhere that looked like
the Inca trail. If anyone is heading back to Peru, I would highly
recommend taking the extra few days to visit the Amazon region."
"The entire tour was absolutely outstanding. Excellent people from top to bottom, excellent facilities, excellent planning, communications and attention to detail. I will strongly recommend Andes Adventures tours to my friends."
"Thanks again for a fantastic
trip. You did a great job pulling it all off; hotels, meals, transfers,
tours, etc. What a great group too! I think I made some lifelong
friends. I would definitely go another trip with Andes again in the
future, especially if you go to Patagonia."
"Thank you for the wonderful Peru running experience! It was the trip of a lifetime and I met some very nice people. It renewed me physically and spiritually. I will always remember the beautiful faces of the people we saw along our journey and the incredible night sky during our Ausangate circuit."
"Thank you for providing such a wonderful trip experience. We are indebted to you Devy, for life. We have been able to understand more about Andes people, explore remote highlands and experience such unusual things. This is an unforgettable trip with nothing but boastful things to say."
"Awesome mountains, BIG views, and wonderful culture to experience.... Devy's efforts and attention to detail make this an experience one could not possibly duplicate. It would have been impossible to have experienced all that we did without Devy's efforts and attention to detail. It was remarkable in every way, and I thoroughly enjoyed it."
"I wanted to express my deepest thanks for creating one of my most amazing life adventures. Perú is amazing, spectacular and a supremely beautiful place. Your passion and zest for what you do was infectious and inspiring."
"Devy, we couldn't have had a better
leader than you. The trip was so organized, and your attitude of helping
people with whatever they needed was terrific. You make people feel very
at ease and confident."
"Your energy, organization and willingness to answer all questions kept us moving and removed all insecurities. running. All in all, the trip far exceeded my expectations. The trip was an excellent value and I will recommend it to all."
"I have been running for over 20 years and have done runs all over the world; however the Andes Adventure run was more than a run. It was a life experience that affects a person to his/her inner soul that forces you to reflect inward and teaches you that we're all on this planet a finite amount of time and that we all depend upon each other in some way or another. I strongly urge anyone to do this trip. You will come away a much better person in many ways for having gone."
"THANKS FOR EVERYTHING" for one of our greatest travel experiences ever. We've been many places and have plenty possibilities for comparison, but all aspects of this trip with you worked out to perfection, the organization was just super.
In these thanks I would also like to include all your Peruvian colleagues and contacts. First of all of course the group of your people covering the Marathon, guides, porters, etc. Also the participants were a great bunch of people with the "right chemistry". But then also the add-on programs we had booked, Titicaca, Amazon, Ica/Nazca/Paracas, and last but not least Lima. Not once was a local contact or transfer missed, everything was always on time (just like Swiss clockwork), and all your local guides were knowledgeable, and also the drivers very good. So again thanks to all for a great holiday."
"A life changing trip that exceeded all my expectations! Devy, I cannot imagine a better organized adventure that left no detail in doubt. After twenty years of pondering a trip to see Machu Picchu, number one on my bucket list, having the culmination of a day on the Inca Trail all come together, standing at the Sun Gate, seeing a truly wonder of the world below, was a life moment of epic proportion!"
"I, a jaded New Yorker, signed up for the Inca Trail Marathon. I came with only one expectation -- I would run Machu Picchu and then brag about it to all of my friends back home. What actually happened was that I left with a dozen some best friends, and lucky enough to have memories that could last me a lifetime. The Inca Trail Marathon was one of the most difficult marathons I have ever attempted. The terrain, the altitude, the 5,000 Inca Stairs -- shake all of these ingredients together and you have a treacherously difficult run. Add race day anxiety and 18 or so crazy racers on the course at 5:30 am-- and you can create history. However, do not fear and stop there -- this marathon provides vistas, views and spiritual experiences so spectacular, only after completing the course can you can truly understand why Machu Picchu was built where it was. Trust me when I say, you will never regret any step you take. But be forewarned, the natural beauty of the snow covered mountains surrounded by the low whistle of the wind (or what can only be the secrets of the Inca past) will completely mesmerize you. You will need to come back. You will be drawn back. This place is truly, deeply magical. Honestly, this was so much more than a trip for me -- it drastically changed my perspective on my life going forward. Clearly, I suggest everyone take and conquer the Inca Trail Marathon Challenge."
"Outstanding trip – far exceeded my expectations! It was an absolutely fantastic adventure and I will sing it's praises to all who I think are interested in hearing! Well done Devy & team for an organizational masterpiece."
"First, I'd like to simply say how much fun we had, but it is just not that simple to express. Of all the places we've been and things we have done, this trip has made it to the top of our list! I knew we were headed for an experience, but had no idea of what we would encounter as a really true experience of a lifetime. This trip turned up to be extraordinary!
I could go on and on, but I'm sure you've heard it all before, from others that have used Andes Adventures to venture through Peru. I know I have much more to say and would really like to, to express how I felt and feel each time I think about and start to tell others of our trip. But for now I just want you to know how much we enjoyed meeting you and your whole group of guys, I want to commend you on a job so very well done! I wish I could present a medal to you, like that you had for the runners, but this one would have to be a real gold medallion with your name on it, stating you are Numero Uno!
Thank you so much for doing such an outstanding job for all of us! "
