Galápagos National Park is located in the Pacific Ocean 600 miles west of mainland Ecuador. About 20 million years ago, deep sea volcanoes caused multiple eruptions that created the Galapagos archipelago. The Galapagos Islands consist of a cluster of over 60 islands and islets.

Charles Darwin explored the Galapagos in 1835 and was amazed by the number of unique species in the different islands that led him in 1859 to the publication of the “Origin of the Species” which changed the course of modern evolutionary thought.

This exciting land-based program offers a great value in the archipelago. Our unique adventure is an ideal way to explore these remarkable islands and visit areas not visited by the traditional boat tours — and at the end of every night you will sleep in a comfortable hotel.

We will run in the highlands of San Cristobal Island and Santa Cruz highlands where we will see giant tortoises in their own habitat and will run the Sierra Negra Volcano Galapagos Marathon on Isabela Island.

With our English-speaking naturalist guides, we will learn about the natural history of these islands and the fascinating species such as tortoises, marine and land iguanas and the diving blue-footed boobies. There are no predators and the wildlife has no fear of humans, which makes the wildlife viewing amazing.
