One of the largest and most colorful festivals in Latin
America, Inti Raymi is the Inca Festival of the Sun, celebrated each year in
Cusco during the Winter solstice.
The Festival is held on June 24th, rather than on the 21st, since it is said that according to the Pacha Unachaq, a sundial used by the Incas, the sun stays a few days in the same place before rising on the 24th of June.
